She was born in Suffern, grew up in Hillburn and graduated from Suffern High School. She was retired from a career in accounting. She was also a member of the Ramapough Lunaape Nation, Brook Presbyterian Church and the Hillburn Senior Citizens Organization.
She is survived by her mother, Jean Powell of Hillburn; her sister, Dawn Powell, of Portsmouth, Va.; her sons, Matthew and his wife, Talia; and Justin Scott and his wife, Jessica, of Middletown; and her grandson, Spencer.
She was predeceased by her father, George Wallace Powell Sr.; and her brothers, Georgie and Leroy Powell.
Friends and relatives may call at the Scarr Funeral Home, Route 202, Suffern, on Monday, March 7, from 11 a.m.-noon, with service at noon. Burial will follow at Airmont Cemetery.
