The unidentified 41-year-old man was caught after Ramapo officers responded to a local grocery store in the Monsey area. The manager reported the man entered the store on two separate occasions and paid for his groceries using counterfeit money, police said.
As a result of the investigation, the man was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument. He is being held awaiting arraignment, police added.
The investigation is being conducted by Ramapo detectives and the U.S. Secret Service.
