Rockland Officials Break Ground For Afghanistan, Iraq Veterans Memorial

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Veterans Service Agency Director Jerry Donnellan will join with veterans' families to break ground on a new memorial to local members of the U.S. military who have been killed in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haverstraw Bay County Park, 21 Gagan Road, Haverstraw. 

The memorial to the six fallen servicemen will be designed by cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. It will be located adjacent to Rockland County's September 11th Memorial.
