Defense lawyer Michael Burke also told U.S. District Court Judge Cathy Seibel he would not be calling any witnesses during the trial which has seen 16 days of testimony.
A few remaining witnesses are expected to be called by prosecutors Tuesday prior to closing arguments, News 12 reported.
St. Lawrence is facing 22-counts of federal corruption charges in connection with the financing of Palisades Credit Union Park, a baseball stadium in Pomona, along with other town projects.
Jury deliberations are expected to begin Wednesday.
