Ramapo Police Handle 131 Calls In One Day, Make Six Arrests

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police handled 131 calls for service Monday and made six arrests that included everything from possession of marijuana to a larceny.

Police said of the six arrests, one was for unlawful possession of marijuana after an officer investigated a person blasting music from a car about 3 a.m. in Monsey. Another arrest was made for a suspended registration after a suspect was stopped for driving 51 mph in a 30-mph zone on Grandview Avenue, and another was for a larceny in which a subject stole over $8,000 through fraudulent money orders in the Hillcrest area. 

Other calls included:

  • Eight medical emergencies.
  • One fire.
  • 16 alarm activations.
  • Five motor vehicle accidents at the following locations: West Eckerson Road, Hillcrest; North Main Street, Hillcrest; Mile Road, Montebello; Executive Boulevard, Airmont; and Saddle River Road, Monsey. One accident involved injury.
