RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo Police have canceled a stay in place warning that had been issued Wednesday afternoon in the area of Route 202 and Cottage Lane.
No one was hurt or arrested. Police described the incident "a welfare check" and did not immediately release further info.
There have been reports the call that led to response may have been a hoax.
Police were operating at an incident in the area that initially was reported to have been possibly involving a hostage. Rockland County REACT and SWAT teams responded to the scene.
Police had advised residents in that area to stay away from all windows and doors and shelter in place.
