The Times’ article about what it called an "uncivil" state of politics encapsulates the considerable coverage of the political carnage by Daily Voice and other local media outlets.
Mayor Demeza Delhomme and Trustee Vilair Fonvil and their nonstop undercutting of each other has thwarted projects, left crucial government posts empty, and could be costing taxpayers in the blue-collar community a pile of cash, The New York Times article said.
According to The New York Times, Delhomme tried to have his foe kicked out of office, while Fonvil once turned the cops on the mayor for letting the Haitian Consulate use the community center.
But the biggest blowup of all came when a resident publicly accused Delhomme of sleeping with his wife, and Fonvil leapt to his defense – the husband’s, not the mayor’s, The New York Times article said.
