Falling Tree Takes Out Power Lines In Airmont

RAMAPO, N.Y. – A falling tree knocked down power lines for a period of time Thursday in the Village of Airmont, causing several traffic lights to malfunction, among other things, Ramapo police said.

Ramapo police were advising motorists to be careful driving through the area.

According to police, the lights went out at the intersections of Airmont Road and Route 59, near Walmart on Route 59, and Cherry Lane and Route 59.

The Tallman Fire Department and Orange & Rockland Utilities are on the scene to direct traffic and make repairs, police said.
