Energy Company Set To Build New Plant In Suffern

SUFFERN, N.Y. – An energy company set to produce solar panels plans to break ground on a new plant in the village early next year.

Ubiquity Energy Inc., which also will assemble components related to the solar panels, said it intends to train more than 200 technicians to install and sell the panels to local homeowners and businesses.

The technicians are set to make between $12-$15 per hour, according to a company press release.

The project appears to be moving swiftly. Though the company plans to begin construction in early 2016, it hopes to install its first solar panel systems by the middle of the year.

According to the company’s press release, the solar panels and related components will be 100 percent manufactured in the United States. The plant also will “provide a large number of well-paid jobs in the Rockland County area.”
