Driver Faces Drug Possession Charges, Ramapo Police Say

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police, investigating a report of a suspicious car, say they charged the driver with possession of marijuana.

Police say they found the car parked on Sima Lane in Chestnut Ridge earlier this week.

There were four men in the car, police said.

The unidentified driver was arrested and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Ramapo police said they also investigated five car accidents Monday.

The one that occurred on Route 17 in Sloatsburg resulted in injuries

The others were all property-damage-only crashes, they said.

Those accidents occurred at Park Street and Ida Road in Monsey; Washington Avenue in New Square; and Route 45 in New Hempstead.
