Ramapo Chief Building Inspector Anthony Mallia, 52, of Airmont, is alleged to have undercharged for building permits, according to lohud.com, which reported that a grand jury has charged him with two felony counts of second-degree grand larceny, 66 counts of first-degree falsifying business records, 40 felony counts each of first-degree tampering with public record and issuing a false certificate and 40 misdemeanor counts of official misconduct.
Mallia also is facing charges that he overcharged the Hillcrest Fire Department’s Moleston Fire District for a building permit by $75,000, according to lohud.com, which reported that the fire company constructed a multi-million dollar firehouse on Route 45.
According to authorities, there is no evidence that Mallia profited from undercharging for building permits, according to lohud.com, which reported that the 52-year-old is scheduled for arraignment in Rockland County Court on Feb. 14.
