The 12-year-old VanderWaal, who became an internet sensation in June with the performance of her original song “I Don’t Know My Name,” was labeled the “next Taylor Swift” by judge Simon Cowell.
The episode was taped in March in Pasadena, California before it aired on June 7. After her performance she was given the golden buzzer by judge Howie Mandel and secured a spot in the live performance round.
More recently VanderWaal performed at the Palisades Credit Union Park and released a cover of Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass," which has over 1.1 million views on YouTube.
The live round shows began on July 26 and will air every Tuesday and Wednesday with a break during the Olympics through Sept. 14. Joanna Chin, a spokesperson for NBC Entertainment, previously said the show's producers decide when each act will perform.
For those hoping to see more of VanderWaal before then, she is set to perform at the Lafayette Theater in Suffern this Saturday.
Doors open for the concert at the Lafayette Theatre at 4:30 p.m. and the show begins at 5:30 p.m. After the two-set performance VanderWaal will take part in an exclusive question-and-answer session.
Tickets are available at the Lafayette Box Office, located at 97 Lafayette Ave. in Suffern.
