The walk will take place at the Palisades Credit Union Park and is part of the national Walk to End Alzheimer's, the largest such event in the country to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support, and research programs.

Those who participate will learn about Alzheimer's disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical-study enrollment, and support programs and services. The walk is open to all ages and last year raised more than $77 million nationwide for the cause.

This year $144,287 was raised ahead of the event, exceeding the $142,000 goal that was set.

Registration for the walk begins at 9 a.m. with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. followed by the two-mile walk at 10:30.
