Hudson Valley Woman Arrested For DWI After Running Car Into Ditch
Police charged an area woman with a DWI after she allegedly crashed her car into a ditch. Ulster County resident Ehlana M. Covert, age 26, of Saugerties, was uninjured when police responded to the scene of the crash on Churchland Road in Saugerties on Sunday, Dec. 20, according to the Saugerties Police Department. She was evaluated by paramedics at the scene, police said, before she was brought to police headquarters and her blood alcohol content was measured at 0.15 percent. Covert was released to a third party, and will appear in court at a later date.

Rockland Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Tree
A Rockland County man was arrested for DWI after clipping a vehicle pulling out of a driveway and crashing his car into a tree. The incident took place on Wednesday, Dec. 9 on Mallory Road in the Hillcrest section of the Town of Ramapo, police said. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 34-year-old male from Hillcrest told officers he clipped a vehicle that was backing out of a driveway before swerving off the roadway and striking a tree. A woman was arrested for alleged felony DWI Leandra's Law in Rockland County after police received calls of a possible intoxicated driver. The incident took place around 5:40 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, when Ramapo Police responded to the call regarding the motorists on the Orange Turnpike in the Village of Sloatsburg. Ulster County Man Refuses To Perform Field Sobriety Tests, Gets Felony DWI, Police Say
An Ulster County man was charged with a felony DWI after he refused to comply with officers who saw him sitting behind the wheel of his running vehicle while visible intoxicated. According to Saugerties Police, 53-year-old Joseph E. Coffey was arrested in the parking lot of the Simmons Plaza on Wednesday, Oct. 8. He refused to participate in field sobriety tests. After he was taken into custody, Coffey also refused to take a chemical test. He was released to a third party and will be sentenced in the Town of Saugerties Court later this month.

Motorist With Multiple DWI Arrests Busted Again For Impaired Driving In Area
An area man with multiple DWI arrests was busted over the weekend once again for alleged impaired driving, police said. Orange County resident Michael Burgher, of Washingtonville, 54, was stopped late on Saturday, Sept. 12 in Orange County when he committed a traffic violation in New Windsor, Police Chief Robert Doss announced. During the subsequent traffic stop, it was determined that Burgher was under the influence, and he was taken into custody. Woman Driving Drunk Crashes Into Utility Pole On Route 202 In Rockland
An allegedly inebriated woman drove her vehicle into and up a utility pole off Route 202 in Rockland County, according to police. The incident happened on the evening of Monday, Aug. 17, the Suffern Police Department said. The pole was damaged in the incident. The identity of the woman, a Maryland resident who was charged with a DWI, and the exact time of the incident were not released. A 38-year-old man was arrested after allegedly driving drunk and crashing near a Rockland County Park. Officers from the Ramapo Police Department responded to a one-car crash shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2 on Route 45 near Reisman Park. A 21-year-old man was arrested for alleged DWI after police responded to a single-vehicle crash.
