Officers Bravely Rescue 2 Dogs Trapped In Culvert In Region
A barking dog for two hours led police in the region to two dogs that were stuck in an underground culvert box. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 29 in the village of Liberty. According to Liberty Police Chief, Steven D'Agata, officers followed the parking to an underground box running along Edgar Street. The dogs were inaccessible from one side of the tunnel due to the threat of collapse of an unstable roof. Dog Rescued After Falling Down Catch Basin In Hudson Valley
A cute little pooch with vision problems was saved from a catch basin along a Hudson Valley roadway by a local police officer. The dog was saved in Rockland County on Monday, April 10, when Stony Point Police Sgt. Kurt Mulligan happened to spot the dog while on patrol along Buckbert Mountain Road in Tomkins Cove, the department said on Facebook. Dog Rescued From Icy Pond In Northern Westchester
Volunteer firefighters in the area are being hailed as heroes for rescuing a dog that fell through the ice of a Northern Westchester pond. At around 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7, when Pleasantville firefighters were notified that a dog named Miller was stuck in Opperman's Pond and unable to climb out. Pearl River Family Devastated By Fire Still Searching For Missing Dog
Members of a Pearl River family who lost their home to a fire last week are asking for help in finding their dog Barrett who disappeared during the devastating blaze. The family is asking for help putting up posters or for residents to just keep an eye out for him. Barrett is described as being a very shy and scared dog, so anyone who might see him is asked not to approach him, but to call 845-596-6271.
