One year after a 3-year-old New York girl was found murdered inside her home, the man responsible has formally confessed.
Rensselaer County resident Robert Fisher, age 34, of Rensselaer, pleaded guilty to murder and rape on Tuesday, July 9, in the death of Josefina Cunningham.
According to prosecutors, emergency crews were called to the girl's Rensselaer home near Broadway and Tracy Street on July 7, 2023, after relatives found her not breathing.

Fatal Rollover Crash: Woman ID'd As Victim On I-87
A woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal one-car rollover crash in the region.
It happened around 6:40 p.m. Friday, April 19, in Greene County, in the village of Catskill, on I-87.
A preliminary investigation at the scene determined that a 2004 Ford Escape was traveling northbound in the passing lane between Exit 20 (Saugerties) and Exit 21 (Catskill), when, for an unknown reason, it exited the roadway, went through the guide rail, struck an earth embankment, and overturned, New York State Police said.

Passenger Dies In Fiery Drunk-Driving Crash Near Capital Region College, Police Say
A suspected drunk-driving crash near a college campus in the region claimed the life of a 47-year-old woman.
The fiery wreck happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in Schenectady, on Eastern Avenue. The scene was two blocks away from Union College.
According to Schenectady Police, 31-year-old Gregory Mitchell, of Scotia, was driving while intoxicated when he crashed into a parked car on Eastern Avenue near Degraff Street.

A husband and wife died together after their car was struck in a head-on crash in the region, authorities said.
The Greene County incident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, on State Route 9W in the town of New Baltimore, near State Route 144.
When troopers arrived, they found 90-year-old Charles Woullard and his 76-year-old wife, Frances, both of the city of Hudson in Columbia County, dead at the scene.
