Port Jervis Man Charged With Rape, Child Endangerment PORT JERVIS, N.Y. – A Port Jervis man is facing several counts of rape and child endangerment after being arrested by the Port Jervis Police Department on Saturday, according to officials. Robert Mackerley, Jr., 42 was arraigned on three counts of first and second-degree rape, three counts of luring a child and one count of endangering the welfare of child. Middletown Man Charged With Murder After Beating Homeless Man To Death MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – A Middletown man was arraigned on first-degree murder charges after a homeless man was beaten to death on Low Street on Sunday, according to the Times Heral Record.  Police said Primitivo Sosa, 27, grabbed the victim, who was lying on a mattress behind St. Joseph's Cemetery at the time of the attack and struck him several times in the face, the Record reported.  Sosa was assigned an attorney from the Legal Aid Society of Orange County and bail was set at $500,000, the Record said.  Click here to read the Times Herald Record article.

Man Found 'In Distress' On Newburgh Street Dies In Hospital NEWBURGH, N.Y. – A New Windsor man who was found by Newburgh Police officers "in distress" on a city sidewalk died in an area hospital on Sunday, according to the Times Herald Record.   Marvin Jones, 51, was found on Van Ness St. where responders administered CPR. He was later pronounced dead at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital. Three Orange County School Districts Among NY's Top 150 In Recent Rankings ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. – Three Orange County schools were ranked among the top 150 in New York by education website Niche.  Cornwall Central Schools were rated the highest in the County, coming in at No. 77 overall for the state, Niche said.  Schools were evaluated based on academics, teachers, clubs and activities, college readiness and health and safety and diversity.
