Combative Driver Injures Officer After Crash On Long Island, Police Say A man is accused of assaulting a police officer following a car crash on Long Island. The incident happened in Bellmore, near the intersection of Bellmore Avenue and Merrick Road, shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14. Nassau County Police said 63-year-old Charles Klimovich, of Bellmore, was involved in a car crash and refused to give officers his information to document the incident. Klimovich reportedly became combative and attempted to flee the scene. 21-Year-Old Nabbed After Breaking Into Long Island Home, Police Say A 21-year-old man is accused of burglarizing a Long Island home. Nassau County Police were called about a break-in at an Inwood residence on Wahl Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2. When officers arrived, they found Wilber Sigaran fleeing the scene, police said. An officer caught up to Sigaran and deployed a TASER device in order to place him under arrest. Sigaran, of Inwood, is charged with assault and burglary. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday, Oct. 3.
