Woman Punched In Face By Man With Knife At Long Island Mall

Police on Long Island are investigating after a 20-year-old woman was punched in the face at an area mall by a man holding a knife.

The incident took place in Nassau County around 420 p.m., Monday, June 5 at the Roosevelt Field Mall in East Garden City.

According to the Nassau County Police detectives, the woman was walking on the second floor of the Roosevelt Field Mall and was struck in the face by a man in a targeted attack.

After being struck, the victim noticed a knife in the man's hand. The man then ran away, police said.

The victim suffered a large laceration to her left cheek and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
