2 Killed In Wrong-Way Meadowbrook State Parkway Crash In Hempstead
Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash on a Long Island highway. It happened on the Meadowbrook State Parkway north of Bay Parkway in Hempstead, at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6. New York State Police said a vehicle was heading southbound in the northbound lanes when it struck an oncoming car. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. This story has been updated: The identities have been released of three of the four people killed in an overnight crash on the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) in Fairfield County. According to Connecticut State Police, the collision occurred around 1:45 a.m., Thursday, May 9, in Stratford. Man Dies In Wrong-Way Crash On Long Island Highway
A 73-year-old man was killed in a wrong-way crash on a Long Island highway late Monday night, Feb. 6. Emergency crews in Islip were called just after 10:30 p.m. with reports of a crash on the southbound Southern/Heckscher State Parkway between exits 44 and 45, according to State Police. A preliminary investigation found that Roy Nelson, of Holbrook, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when he struck a Tesla head on. Missing Person Among 2 Wrong-Way Drivers Stopped On Southern State Parkway In Islip, Police Say
A missing person has been found after State Police on Long Island responded to not one, but two separate wrong-way drivers on the Southern State Parkway in just as many days. Troopers were first called at around 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with reports of a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway in the town of Islip, near exit 42, according to State Police.
