These Hudson Valley Roadways To Be Repaved As Part Of $100M Project Thanks to $100 million in new funding, over 560 miles of roadway across the state of New York will be repaved to make them more resilient to freak weather events. The $100 million investment, Gov. Here's How Many Long Islanders Are Now Without Power After Storm Sweeps Through Heavy rain and strong winds with hazardous gusts caused significant damage in Nassau and Suffolk counties, leaving some 17,368 customers without power. The storm brought down large trees, branches, and wires, affecting more than 49,000 of  1.1 million customers, PSEG officials said. As of 4 a.m., Friday, Nov. 1, more than 55 percent of customers affected have been restored, leaving 17,368  without power, the company said.
