Here's How Many Long Islanders Are Now Without Power After Storm Sweeps Through
Heavy rain and strong winds with hazardous gusts caused significant damage in Nassau and Suffolk counties, leaving some 17,368 customers without power.
The storm brought down large trees, branches, and wires, affecting more than 49,000 of 1.1 million customers, PSEG officials said.
As of 4 a.m., Friday, Nov. 1, more than 55 percent of customers affected have been restored, leaving 17,368 without power, the company said.
Crews have been working all night in dangerous conditions to assess the damage and make repairs, companies officials said.
