Rash Of Shootings Could Be Related To Long Island Gang Dispute, Police Say
Police are investigating a spate of recent shootings on Long Island in recent weeks which could be related to a gang dispute, police say.
The most recent drive-by shooting took place around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, with 40 shots fired by three different guns into a home on Teed St., in Huntington Station, said the Suffolk County Police.
Police confirm there have been seven shootings in Huntington Station over the last few weeks, including five this month.

Man Busted With Pot, Defaced Handgun During LI Traffic Stop, Police Say
A 25-year-old man was busted by police on Long Island allegedly for having a defaced handgun and marijuana during a traffic stop.
Dimitri Bien-Aime, of Brooklyn, was arrested around 10:45 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, during the stop in Elmont, said the Nassau County Police.
According to Detectives, officers spotted a 2012 BMW SUV traveling southbound on Meacham Avenue without a license plate and stopped the vehicle.

An NYPD sergeant and personal trainer from Long Island are both facing charges following a trespassing incident that led to the latter suffering a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.
It is alleged that in the early hours of Oct. 25 last year, Point Lookout resident Patrick Catania, 30, was trespassing at the Seaford home of Justin Ellis, 35, an NYPD sergeant, while Ellis’ wife and children were home, prosecutors said.

Two area men were arrested for allegedly being in possession of a weapon and drugs during a traffic stop for having excessive window tinting.
Kevin Colon, 32, and Mario Perez, 31, both of Rockaway, Queens, were arrested around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, during the stop in Levittown on the Hempstead Turnpike, said the Nassau County Police.
During the stop of the 2017 Nissan Altima, officers found Colon, 32, was in possession of a substance believed to be marijuana. Perez was allegedly found to be in possession of a handgun. He was arrested without incident.
