Two Killed After Car Hits Guard Rail, Pole, Tree On Wantagh Parkway Two people were killed in an early morning Labor Day crash in which a car traveling at a high rate of speed struck a guard rail, light pole and tree on the Wantagh State Parkway, state police said. At approximately 3:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, state police troopers responded to a report of an overturned vehicle on the northbound Wantagh State Parkway to the Northern State Parkway eastbound ramp.
