6-Year-Old Hospitalized After Drunk Driving Crash On Long Island, Police Say
A man has been accused of driving drunk after an overnight Long Island crash hospitalized his young daughter.
It happened around 9:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 in Rocky Point.
Suffolk County Police say the man was driving a 2017 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Lower Rocky Point Road, when the vehicle veered left at the intersection of Hagerman Landing Road, left the roadway, and crashed.
When officers arrived, police say Edward Milano, age 36, of Rocky Point, displayed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest.

Not So Fast: Drunk Driver Hits Utility Pole On Long Island, Tries Running Away, Police Say
A 30-year-old man is facing drunk driving charges after allegedly crashing into a utility pole on Long Island and then fleeing on foot.
The incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in Eastport, at the intersection of Montauk Highway and South Bay Avenue.
According to Southampton Town Police, Ismael Garcia-Chitay, of Eastport, was driving eastbound on Montauk Highway when he drove off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and nobody was injured.

57-Year-Old From Northport Killed After Crashing Into Pole In Fort Salonga
Police on Long Island are investigating after a man was killed in a single-vehicle crash after being ejected and landing in a nearby creek.
John Burke, age 57, was killed in Fort Salonga around 2:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 12.
According to the Suffolk County Police, Burke, of Northport, was driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue westbound on Route 25A when he lost control of the vehicle, which struck a pole at Sunken Meadow Road.
The vehicle came to a rest on its side, off the roadway, and Burke was ejected from the vehicle into a nearby creek, police said.
