A 38-year-old man who devised a plan to rob a Long Island Wells Fargo — including zip-tying the victims — has now been sentenced to a lengthy stay in prison.
Quincy Homere, age 38 of Hempstead, was given his sentence of 18 years behind bars on Friday, March 1 for the 2015 incident, the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) announced.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jose Saez, Jr., who worked as a pastor at a Brentwood church, was arraigned on Wednesday, Dec. 6 for his alleged crimes, including possession of child pornography, the United States Attorney’s Office announced.

A new 48-count superseding indictment charging dozens of alleged MS-13 members – including a handful from Long Island – with murder, money laundering, and other charges has been released, officials announced.
On Wednesday, June 21, the United States Attorney’s Office unsealed a superseding indictment that charges 23 alleged MS-13 gang members, six of them from Long Island, of attempted murder, racketeering, and more.

A man has pleaded guilty to a charge related to a scheme to steal tires and rims from vehicles at luxury car dealerships in Connecticut, New York and more states and sell them across the country.
Michael Farias, age 56, of Providence, Rhode Island, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Nov. 10, to one count of interstate transportation of stolen property, according to Leonard Boyle, acting United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Three MS-13 Gang Members Charged In Fatal Stabbing Of 13-Year-Old
Three MS-13 members, already behind bars on other charges, have been indicted for the alleged knifing murder of a 13-year-old gang member in a Queens park.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, the United States Attorney’s office in Brooklyn charged Melvi Amador-Rios, 28, aka “Letal” and “Pinky”; Josue Leiva, 22, aka “Colocho”; and Luis Rivas, 24, aka “Inquieto,” both of Jamacia, Queens, with the May 2017 stabbing death of Julio Vasquez in Alley Pond Park.
