Jonathan Louissaint, 32, unlawfully entered a home on Forest Avenue at 9:15 a.m. and assaulted a 24-year-old man, punching him in the face and hitting his hand with a metal bar, detectives said.

A Long Island man was arrested after he allegedly drove drunk with an adult passenger and three kids in the back, crashing into a tree, police said.
The crash happened just after 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 1 in Garden City.
According to Nassau County Police, 41-year-old Ruben Gonzalez of Westbury was driving north on Cherry Valley Avenue while he was drunk.

Hundreds of Long Island drivers were issued tickets during the holiday weekend as part of a statewide crackdown on distracted and dangerous driving, police said.
From Friday, Sept. 1 to Monday, Sept. 4, the New York State Police arrested over a dozen people for driving under the influence and handed out hundreds more tickets on Long Island, the department announced.
Of the 572 tickets given, 165 of them were for speeding, 32 were for distracted driving, 12 were for child restraint or seatbelt violations, and three were for violations of the Move Over Law.

Kyle Gritser, of Hicksville, was arrested in New Cassel at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
