In the Town of Oyster Bay, both directions of the Long Island Expressway will see overnight closures the week of Sunday, Oct. 27, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. Beginning Sunday, the westbound lanes will be closed between exit 46 and exit 48 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, for approximately one week. Jones Beach Meadowbrook Parkway Toll Plaza To Be Demolished This story has been updated. The familiar entrance to Jones Beach is being taken down in an improvement project. Work is underway on $3.9 million project to create a more welcoming approach to Jones Beach said the April 26 announcement by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. The project will demolish an abandoned toll plaza on Meadowbrook Parkway and build a monumental gateway sign to welcome visitors to Jones Beach State Park.
