12 Rescued From Sinking 58-Foot Boat In Point Lookout Emergency responders were able to rescue 12 people from a 58-foot that was sinking on Long Island. The incident happened just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in Point Lookout. The vessel was about a half-mile offshore when it began taking on water, according to Nassau County Police. All passengers were safely brought back to shore. Teens' Jet Skis Collide, Hospitalizing 1, In Long Island Accident Police are investigating an accident that occurred when two teenagers’ jet skis crashed into each other at a Long Island beach, sending one to the hospital. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 25 at approximately 12: 46 p.m. in Point Lookout, Nassau County Police reported. Two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, were riding jet skis in the Jones Inlet when they suddenly collided with each other. The 16-year-old victim suffered a compound fracture to his leg.
