Combative Driver Injures Officer After Crash In Bellmore, Police Say
A man is accused of assaulting a police officer following a car crash on Long Island. The incident happened in Bellmore, near the intersection of Bellmore Avenue and Merrick Road, shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14. Nassau County Police said 63-year-old Charles Klimovich, of Bellmore, was involved in a car crash and refused to give officers his information to document the incident. Klimovich reportedly became combative and attempted to flee the scene. 21-Year-Old Nabbed After Breaking Into Inwood Home, Police Say
A 21-year-old man is accused of burglarizing a Long Island home. Nassau County Police were called about a break-in at an Inwood residence on Wahl Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2. When officers arrived, they found Wilber Sigaran fleeing the scene, police said. An officer caught up to Sigaran and deployed a TASER device in order to place him under arrest. Sigaran, of Inwood, is charged with assault and burglary. He was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Man's Stun Gun, Fire Death At NY Police Station Doesn't Warrant Criminal Charges, AG Says
Three New York police officers are off the hook for criminal charges in the death of a man who caught fire after being hit with a stun gun. The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation (OSI) found that a prosecutor would not be able to prove that the three officers, all members of the Catskill Police Department in Greene County, committed a crime in the October 2021 death of Jason Jones. A taser-wielding man is on the loose and wanted by police after stealing electronics from a Long Island Staples and threatening employees with the weapon, police said. Officers from the Nassau County Police Department responded to a reported robbery at Staples on Old Country Road in Westbury at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
