Bicyclist Struck In Westhampton Airlifted To Hospital, Police Say
A bicyclist hit by a vehicle was airlifted to a Long Island hospital. The incident took place in Westhampton around 10:45 a.m., Monday, Sept. 26 on Old Riverhead Road. Southampton Town police responded and requested additional personnel for assistance, said Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Police. Westhampton Beach Police, Suffolk County Sheriff’s, Westhampton Beach Fire Department, and Westhampton Beach Volunteer Ambulance responded as well. Police Searching For Suspect Who Broke Into Riverhead IHOP, Stole Cash
Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly broke into a Long Island IHOP restaurant and made off with cash. The burglary took place around 11 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27 at the IHOP located at 1490 Old Country Road in Riverhead. According to Riverhead Police, an employee at IHOP reported while the business was closed a person broke a side window and entered the business. The suspect then removed an unknown amount of cash from the cash register and when confronted by the employee fled the restaurant, police said. Search Team Finds Missing Swimmer Dead In Long Island Pond
The body of a man who went missing while swimming in a Long Island pond has been recovered by search teams. The swimmer, identified as Vidal Martinez-Romero, age 48, of Brooklyn, was reported missing around 7:50 p.m., Saturday, July 17, when the Southampton Town Police received a report of a man that appeared to be in distress while swimming in Big Fresh Pond in the vicinity of Elliston Park.
