Man Struck, Killed By SUV On Long Island
A man was killed after being struck by an SUV on Long Island.
It happened around 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 in Coram, Suffolk County Police said.
The victim, Martin Tiess, 57, of Mount Sinai, was walking with a bicycle on northbound Route 112 when he was struck by a northbound 2001 Suburban, according to police.
Tiess was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The driver of the Suburban, Troy Norr, 50, of Manorville, and a female passenger were not injured.

A 20-year-old area man who was killed and two teenage brothers who were critically injured in a single-vehicle crash have been identified by police.
William Smith, 20, of Mastic, was killed around 8:45 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13, while driving a 1996 Lexus eastbound on Pine Road when he lost control of the vehicle, which struck a tree and caught fire in front of 24 Pine Road, said the Suffolk County Police.
