Lavell Jones, age 43, of East Northport, was riding a 2021 Kawasaki westbound on Jericho Turnpike, east of Elwood Road when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a pole, Suffolk County Police said. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, according to police. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
