Funeral Held For Long Island Corrections Officer Killed In Crash A funeral was held for the 25-year-old corrections officer on Long Island who died after being involved in a crash last week. Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon, Jr. said on Monday, June 28 that the men and women of his Office said goodbye to officer Candace Ogiejko, who was killed in a car crash while driving on Sills Road in Yaphank on Wednesday, June 23. Ogiejko joined the Sheriff’s Office in January 2019 and just completed her second year on the force at the time of her death.
