NY Man Wins $1M In NY Lottery Scratch-Off Game
A New York man won a $1 million lottery prize.
Michael Spivey, a resident of St. Albans, a neighborhood in Queens, claimed a top prize from the New York Lottery's $1,000,000 Lucky Dog scratch-off game, NY Lottery announced on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
He received his prize as a single, lump sum of $526,526 after required withholdings, the lottery said.
NY Lottery said the winning ticket was purchased at Associated Supermarket, which is located at 153-30 89th St. in Jamaica.
Suspect Nabbed In Fatal Long Beach Shooting Of 37-Year-Old
A suspect has been charged nearly three months after a fatal Long Island shooting.
It happened on Saturday, March 19 at around 2:20 a.m. in Long Beach.
The victim was shot in the vicinity of 425 East Broadway and sustained severe injuries, Nassau County Police said.
On Thursday, March 24, Nassau County Police said the man, identified as Manuel Francis Hernandez, age 37, of St. Albans, Queens, was pronounced dead by South Nassau Hospital staff on Wednesday March 23.

Long Island Assisted Living Facility Worker Struck 92-Year-Old Woman In Face, Police Say
A woman employed as a health-care worker allegedly struck a 92-year-old victim in the face at a Long Island assisted living facility.
It happened around 4:50 a.m.on Monday, Feb. 10 in East Garden City.
According to detectives, Andrea B. Richards, 48, of St. Albans, Queens, while employed as a health care worker, struck the victim with her right hand causing the victim substantial pain and a black and blue discolored eye.
Richards was arrested without incident at her home at 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
