Fatal Hit-Run Crash: Suspect Nabbed On Long Island A Long Island man has been arrested following a months-long investigation into a fatal hit-and-run. Southampton Town Police said Benjamin J. SheenWaltzer, age 32, turned himself in on Friday, Nov. 15, after being linked to a crash on Springville Road in Hampton Bays. The crash on Wednesday, March 6 killed Angel Astimbay, age 67, a resident of Hampton Bays. SheenWaltzer, of Southampton, faces felony charges of: Leaving the scene of an accident with injuries resulting in death, Tampering with physical evidence. Victim ID'd In Hit-Run Crash Killing Man On Long Island Authorities have identified a man who was killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking in a Long Island neighborhood. The incident happened at around 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in Hampton Bays, on Springville Road. Southampton Town Police said Angel Asimbay, age 67, of Hampton Bays, was struck near the intersection of Neptune Avenue. He was taken by ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center and died from his injuries. The driver who struck Asimbay fled the scene, police said. Suspect At Large After Punching, Stealing Cash From Victim In Hampton Bays A suspect is at large after allegedly punching and then stealing cash from a victim on Long Island overnight. The incident happened around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 in Hampton Bays. That's when a man was walking on Springville Road when the suspect punched the victim several times, according to the Southampton Town Police Department.
