Joseph Norris, age 40, of Babylon, copped to multiple charges, including aggravated vehicular homicide, in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, May 23, in the death of Anthony Mariano in November 2020. Worker Injured After Being Trapped Between Two Industrial Lifts On Long Island An industrial worker suffered serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries after becoming trapped between two lifts on Long Island. The incident took place around 11:15 a.m., Monday, Dec. 14, when a 55-year-old man was loading industrial lifts on to a flatbed truck in the parking lot of Sunbelt Rentals, located at 150 Nassau Ave., Islip when he became trapped between two lifts, said the Suffolk County Police. He was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Man Rescued From Collapsed Cesspool On Long Island Police officers came to the rescue of a man who fell into a collapsed cesspool while doing yard work on Long Island. Ralph Santos, 88, was weed whacking at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3 in his backyard on Bancroft Road in North Bay Shore when a cesspool collapsed in the yard, creating a sinkhole, Suffolk County Police said.
