A Long Island father could spend years behind bars after admitting that he raped his biological daughter. The 45-year-old South Huntington resident, who prosecutors are not naming in order to protect the identity of the victim, pleaded guilty to first-degree rape in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, May 31. Threat Leads To Police Presence At High School In Suffolk County
Students at a Long Island school will find extra police officers on campus following a threat called into police. The threat was called in to Suffolk County Police around 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18 referencing a school in South Huntington. According to police, the threat made referencing Walt Whitman High School. Police did not reveal the type of threat made. Police are asking the public for help identifying a man wanted for stealing a high-end handbag valued at $1,450 on Long Island. The man allegedly entered the Saks Fifth Avenue, in South Huntington, around 12:05 p.m., on Feb. 17, and stole a Louis Vuitton handbag, said officials with the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police. Man Pulled From Burning Car After Long Island Crash
A Long Island man was saved from a burning vehicle after a crash by two Suffolk County Police Second Precinct officers. The rescue occurred around 6:45 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, when Mark Levy, of Melville, was driving a 2010 Hyundai northbound on Walt Whitman Road in South Huntington, when he crashed into the guardrail, said the Suffolk County Police.
