Four businesses on Long Island were shut down and two women were arrested following quality of life complaints from residents.
Suffolk County Police coordinated with Brookhaven town investigators, building inspector, and fire marshall to investigate numerous quality of life complaints, including prostitution.

Long Island Man Admits To Targeting, Attacking Hispanic Men
A Long Island man has admitted to targeting Hispanic men, bringing them to remote locations, and then violently attacking them.
Christopher Cella, of Selden, pleaded guilty to multiple hate crimes in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Aug. 18, including strangulation and assault.

30-Year-Old Woman Killed In Suspected DWI Long Island Crash
A 30-year-old woman has died following an apparent drunk driving crash on Long Island.
Suffolk County Police were called at around 2:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, with reports of a car crash in Farmingville, near Blue Point Road and Clearview Avenue.
Investigators determined that Anthony Milano, age 31, of Farmingville, had been driving westbound on Clearview Avenue when he struck a parked van before hitting a tree.
The van was unoccupied at the time, police said.

Police have released the identity of two men found shot to death inside a Long Island home.
The men were found in Selden around 10:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 3 at a home located at 55 Hollywood Ave.
As part of a missing person investigation, detectives responded to the home and found two men shot to death in the home, Suffolk County Police said.

Pursuit, Crash Leads To Discovery Of Long Island Duo With Ghost Gun, Police Say
A weekend police chase on Long Island ended with troopers finding a so-called ghost gun.
The incident began around 11 a.m. Sunday, May 1, when troopers attempted to stop a Nissan Altima for speeding on the Northern State Parkway near New Highway in Smithtown, New York State Police said.
After a short pursuit, the driver entered the on-ramp to Sunken Meadow Parkway but lost control on a curve and crashed near a wooded area, police said.
The driver then took off on foot and has not been found.
