After holding steady for two straight days, the positive COVID-19 infection rate on Long Island is back on the rise as both Nassau and Suffolk reported more than 650 newly confirmed infections.

Thirteen new COVID-19-related deaths were confirmed on Long Island in the latest data released by the state, as the infection rate rose for the fourth straight day.
According to the Department of Health, there were eight new COVID-19 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 3,170 since the pandemic began, while five new deaths brought the total in Nassau to 2,992.
