Fatal Crash: Person Struck By Car On Busy Long Island Roadway
A person died after being hit by a car overnight on a busy Long Island roadway.
It happened at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in Melville, on Broadhollow Road (Route 110), between Spagnoli Road and Ruland Road.
A 23-year-old Huntington Station man was driving a 2003 Toyota sedan northbound in the left lane when he struck the man who was crossing the road, Suffolk County Police said.

A Long Island man was arrested after attempting to allegedly rob a local eatery and then threatened a worker with a flagpole he had broken, according to police.
Vincent Baxter, age 21, of Amityville, was arrested around 4:40 p.m., Thursday, May 13, in Farmingdale, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Baxter approached a 53-year-old female employee at Ralph’s Italian Ices located at 850 Main St., and passed a note demanding money.

Long Island Teen Crossing Street Struck, Killed By BMW, Police Say
An 18-year-old crossing a Long Island street was struck and killed by a BMW driven by a fellow teenager, police said.
The incident happened in Amityville Saturday, Aug. 1 at about 2:20 a.m.
Jose Cantarero, 18, of Amityville, was driving a 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML430 northbound on Route 110 when the vehicle struck the victim who was crossing the road at Coolidge Avenue, Suffolk County Police said.
Cantarero initially left the scene but returned a few minutes later in the vehicle involved in the crash, police said.

Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck By SUV On Long Island

A bicyclist was killed in a crash with a compact SUV on Long Island.
It happened at 6:50 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 in Huntington Station.
The victim, now identified as Sean Siegel, 32, of Huntington Station, was struck by a 2015 Nissan Rogue traveling southbound on Route 110 at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike, Suffolk County Police said.
Siegel was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Nissan, Dominick Amorosa, 48, of East Northport, was not injured, according to police.

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a Jeep on Long Island.
It happened at approximately 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in Melville.
David Vilaca, 26, of Melville, was crossing Route 110 from west to east, near Fletcher Place, against the light when he was struck by the 2016 Jeep Renegade, Suffolk County Police said.
Vilaca was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for the treatment of serious injuries.
