A Long Island man has been convicted of killing a 34-year-old victim on his birthday because he was jealous that he was talking to his girlfriend.
Suffolk County resident Alcides Lopez Cambara, age 42, of Hampton Bays, was convicted of the murder of Marco Grisales of East Hampton on Nov. 11, 2020, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney, who announced the conviction on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Eighteen people are facing charges in a 148-count indictment following a long-term investigation into gang-related robberies, thefts, and a murder committed on Long Island.
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced the indictment of alleged members of the "No Fake Love" gang, also known as "NFL," on Monday, Dec. 12.
Tierney said the investigation involved 31 separate incidents, including the murder of Jorge Mauricio Sevilla Barrera in December of 2021.

Riverhead Man Accused Of Driving Drunk, Crashing With 7-Month-Old In Pickup Truck
A local man has been accused of driving drunk with an infant in the vehicle after a crash near a busy Long Island intersection.
The crash happened in Riverhead at about 6:10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and involved a black Chevrolet pickup truck and a gray Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Main Road near the intersection of Route 105, Riverhead Police said.
Upon police arrival, an investigation was conducted and the operator of the pickup truck, Phillip Majeski age, of Riverhead, was found to be intoxicated, and had a 7-month-old child inside the vehicle, according to police.

Man Kills Grandmother After Intentionally Striking Her With Vehicle In West Islip, Police Say
A Long Island man has been charged with killing his grandmother after police say he intentionally struck her with a vehicle.
The incident happened in West Islip on Sunday, Oct. 16 at around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Tanglewood Road and Ryan Street.
Helga McNulty, age 80, of Babylon, was a passenger in a Subaru that was driven by her grandson, Raymond Gallo, Suffolk County Police said.
The Subaru traveled north on Tanglewood Road, and McNulty exited the vehicle, police said.
