26-Year-Old Busted Driving Stolen Car On Long Island, Police Say
A report of a stolen car ended with a 26-year-old man in handcuffs on Long Island.
Riverhead Town Police were alerted at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30, that a vehicle stolen from Nassau County was believed to be entering Riverhead.
Nearly 10 minutes later, patrol units spotted the 2006 Dodge Charger stopped on Route 58 near Mill Road, according to police.
Officers arrested the driver, Bhajenauth Ramsaroop, of Jamaica, Queens, without incident on multiple charges, including:

Riverhead resident Jose Carabantes Pineda, age 37, of Riverhead, was sentenced to 23 years in prison in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, April 6. It followed his guilty plea to the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl, the Suffolk County DA announced.

Homeless Duo Robs Man At Knifepoint Outside Long Island Business, Police Say
Two people are behind bars after allegedly robbing a man at knifepoint outside a Long Island business.
The incident was reported just after 11 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in Riverhead, outside the Morenitas Deli on Griffin Avenue near Main Street, according to Riverhead Town Police.
When officers arrived, the victim told them that a man and woman had forcibly removed his cellphone and cash at knifepoint. There were no reports of injuries.
