Long Island Man Causes 3 Crashes, Police Say
A Long Island man was nabbed for reckless driving after allegedly causing three crashes as he fled from police.
The incident occurred in Riverhead around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at Osborn Avenue and Lincoln Street.
According to Riverhead Police, officers responded to a report of a 2006 Acura sedan driving at a high rate of speed, putting other drivers at risk.
Christian Alexander Hernandez Saenz, age 24, of Riverhead, first collided with a white 2015 Toyota Rav-4 traveling southbound on Osborn Avenue, causing extensive damage to both vehicles, said police.

A slew of law enforcement officers on Long Island spent part of Memorial Day fishing a brood of ducklings out of a drainpipe.
The officers came to the rescue in Suffolk County around 1:15 p.m., Monday, May 25, in the hamlet of Riverside.
According to police, the Southampton Town Police were called for five ducklings stuck in a storm drain on Route 24 in Riverside.
Momma duck was sitting nearby, waiting for help, and then watching the entire rescue.

Long Island Hunter Stuck In 'Suction Cup' Mud Rescued By First Responders
A hunter was rescued by emergency responders after he became stuck in muck in a marshy area of Long Island.
The rescue took place in Wading River around 8:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 17, when Riverhead Police and Fire departments responded to Creek Road, said the Riverhead Police Department.
Once on the scene, they found that the hunter, who had on waders, was stuck in a muddy part of the marsh that was "acting like a suction cup," and prevented him from moving from the area, police said.
Firefighters were able to rescue the man within a short time, police added.

Suffolk Woman Arrested After Child Left Home Alone Allegedly Starts Two Fires
A woman was arrested after a 7-year-old left home alone on Long Island allegedly started two fires.
Nora Soto-Cordova, 32, of Northampton in Suffolk County, was arrested at 10:45 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, after Southampton Police responded to a residence in Northampton for a house fire, said Southampton Police Lt. Susan Ralph.
Officers spoke to a resident who found a fire had been started in his bedroom and another in the kitchen area, Ralph said.
