Terminal In Manhattan Set To Open This Year
New York State officials have announced the name of the new 700,000-square-foot Long Island Rail Road terminal in Manhattan that is nearing its completion. The new terminal, which will be located below Grand Central Terminal and Madison Avenue from 43rd Street to 48th Street, is named Grand Central Madison, Gov. Time Is Money: Here's How Much Traffic Congestion Costs NYC Commuters
The daily congestion that commuters deal with each day is costing New York City billions of dollars, according to a new study. INRIX, Inc. a transportation analytics service published it’s latest Global Traffic Scorecard that identified and ranked congestion and mobility trends in more than 900 cities, across 43 countries. That study found that New York City commuters ranked fourth overall - down from second last year - nationwide in losing an average of 140 hours in congestion. 'Time Clock Sabotage' Under Investigation Just Weeks After Reports Of Excessive OT Pay
Weeks after the MTA was rocked by reports of overtime pay going off the rails to the tune of more than $400 million, an investigation has been launched after a Long Island Railroad time clock in Queens was tampered with. When workers went to install a new biometric clock at the LIRR Jamaica station to help better monitor when workers clock in and out, to keep track of overtime, they found that the communication line used by the clock had been cut by a suspected saboteur.
