Utility crews from PSEG worked around the clock to restore power to thousands of Long Island residents impacted by Tropical Storm Elsa as the storm makes its way up the East Coast.
Elsa moved across Long Island and the Rockaways early on Friday, July 9, bringing heavy rain and whipping winds, which toppled trees and downed power lines, leaving thousands without power overnight.
As of around 10 a.m. on Friday, PSEG was still working on 227 active outages that were impacting 6,634 of the company’s 1,172,708 customers on Long Island.

It took a week, but PSEG Long Island is claiming power has now been fully restored after Tropical Storm Isaias barreled through the region.
PSEG reported late on Wednesday, Aug. 12 that the company has restored power to all 420,000 customers affected by Isaias, though other outages that were identified during the cleanup process still remain.
As of 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, PSEG is still dealing with 763 other outages that were impacting 2,117 of its 1,162,455 Long Island customers.
