New Round Of Scattered, Severe Thunderstorms Sweeping Through Area
A new round of scattered, severe thunderstorms is moving through the area.
There have been reports of strong storms both in the southern portions of the region, including the New York City area, and farther inland in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut.
At 4:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, a strong thunderstorm was located over Scarsdale, near New Rochelle, moving east at 20 mph.
Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm.

Nypd Officer From Westchester Busted With Child Porn, DA Announces
An NYPD patrol officer from Westchester was taken into police custody after being busted with dozens of images of nude children, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., announced.
John Telesca, 37, of Port Chester, was arrested in his home by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office High Technology Crime Squad on child porn charges, the DA announced on Thursday, Aug. 8.
Telesca was arraigned in Port Chester Village Court and charged with promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, both felonies.

Ex-Area Restaurateur Mario Batali Accused Of Groping Woman In New Charges
Former Westchester restaurateur and celebrity chef Mario Batali pleaded not guilty to charges that he allegedly groped and forcibly kissed a woman at a Boston restaurant.
Batali, 58, the former owner of the popular Tarry Market in Port Chester and Tarry Lodge in Westport, Connecticut, issued his plea early Friday, May 24, in Boston Municipal Court, wearing Adidas Yeezy sneakers, instead of his famous orange Crocs, said NBC News.
