An explosion rocked Northeast Philadelphia after a medical jet crashed into a densely populated area, igniting multiple fires and injuring people both in the air and on the ground, authorities told Daily Voice.
A Mexican-registered Learjet 55, registered as XA-UCI, crashed near Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, after departing from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Loved ones are preparing to say goodbye to a young woman from Long Island whose life was tragically cut short.
Marisa Piazza, 24, of Farmingdale, died Monday, Jan. 27, three days after she was struck by a Jeep on West Chestnut Street in South Farmingdale, as Daily Voice reported.
Piazza suffered serious injuries and spent the weekend in critical condition before ultimately succumbing to her injuries, Nassau County Police said.

Natalie DiDonato, a cast member from Season 5 of "Mob Wives", has been found safe in Nevada, ending a brief missing-persons search, NBC News reported.

Nassau County Police arrested two men on suspicion of fraud and related charges Monday, July 22, for allegedly posing as construction contractors in order to con homeowners.

Rite Aid Announces 20 NY Stores Slated For Closure After Declaring Bankruptcy
Rite Aid has announced specific store closures just days after the struggling pharmacy chain filed for bankruptcy.
Of the 154 closures nationwide announced on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 20 are in New York, 14 of which are on Long Island.
