Armed Man Attempted To Barricade Himself In Long Island Home With Woman, Children, Police Say A man was apprehended after authorities say he attempted to barricade himself in a Long Island home with a woman and two children. Around noontime Friday, April 9, Nassau County Police officers responded to a residence on Pennywood Avenue in Roosevelt after a report of a dispute between two men, one with a gun.  After an initial investigation and through interviews with multiple witnesses, officers confirmed that the suspect did brandish a rifle during the dispute with his neighbors, Nassau County Police said.
