Nassau County Police Officer Dies Suddenly A 27-year veteran of the Nassau County Police has died unexpectedly. The officer died on Monday, Oct. 7. The Nassau County Police Department did not release the name of the officer or the cause of death. "He worked every day to keep our communities safe and his death is a tremendous loss for this department," the department said in a statement.
