The incident happened overnight Sunday, July 19 in Patchogue. The investigation, which is in the preliminary stages, has revealed Suffolk County Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting an unknown man in a backyard on Brook Street just before 1 a.m., Suffolk County Police said. Police Officer Assists In Delivering Baby Girl A Suffolk County Fifth Precinct police officer helped deliver a baby in Patchogue overnight. Officer Robert Burgos responded to a 911 call just before 3 a.m. Monday, Sept. on a report of a 29-year-old woman in active labor at her home, located on Jennings Avenue.  Officer Burgos assisted as Edith Punin gave birth to a baby girl, Kayla Maritza. The mother and baby were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via Patchogue Ambulance in good condition.
